Welcome to Pacak

So you finally summited Gunung Nuang. Took a picture at the puncak (with the correct posing, of course), came back, posted on IG, life moves on.

Three years later your friend asks: "Bila kau pergi Nuang dulu? Berapa jam?"

You stare at the ceiling. You squint at your camera roll. You scroll past 2,000 photos of your cat. Nothing.

That's why Pacak exists.

What is Pacak?

A hiking logbook for Malaysian hikers. Over 1,000 mountains across Semenanjung, Sabah and Sarawak are already inside, from Tahan and Yong Belar down to that random bukit near your kampung you've been eyeing since secondary school.

Open the app, log a hike, and that's it. The summit is now in your records forever. Next time someone asks, you check your phone.

What you can do

Quick rundown:

  • Log every hike. Date, duration, mountain, summited or DNF, who you went with, the photo, notes. The kind of thing you tell yourself you'll write down but never do.
  • Discover peaks. Browse curated lists like Most popular, Beginner friendly, Toughest test, The G7 club, Sunrise worthy, Hidden gems.
  • Track the G7. Every Malaysian hiker's bucket list. Pacak tells you which ones you've done and how much farther you have to go.
  • Sync with Strava. Pulls in distance, pace, and elevation. So you can scientifically prove that yes, your friend really was that slow on Korbu.
  • Earn achievements. First summit. First DNF. 1,000m gained in a single hike. 5 states. All G7. The kind of bragging rights only other hikers understand.
  • Plan ahead. Add an upcoming hike, see the weather forecast for the trailhead. Sharing with your hiking group is coming soon.

Built here, for here

Every mountain in Pacak has been added with the stuff that actually matters in Malaysia: permit status, guide requirements, state, difficulty, and verified GPX trails. We know the difference between needing a Malim and a Malim Gunung, and we'll tell you which mountain needs which.

Some honest things we want this app to be:

  1. The place you check before booking that long weekend trip to KK.
  2. The place you check after, to log the summit before you forget.
  3. The place your future self goes to remember.

A small request

If you spot something wrong (a mountain we missed, an elevation that's off, a permit rule that changed), every mountain detail page has a Report this mountain button. Tap it. We read everything.

Or email us directly: hello@pacak.com.my.

And if you ever submit Tahan in under 4 days, let us know. We'd like to shake your hand. Slowly. Because our legs are still recovering from the last one.

Jumpa atas puncak.
